Translation
Senior CS/SK linguist. Available now.
Twenty-two years of translation across technical, medical, legal, IT, automotive, and marketing domains. Certified MT Post-Editor. CAT-tool fluent. Available to translation agencies and direct clients.
Pairs I work in
Active translation pairs (mine, end-to-end):
Source comprehension:
Spanish, French, Dutch, Polish (proofreading and reference, not active translation)
Native target proficiency: Czech and Slovak (IRL Level 5, native bilingual — born in former Czechoslovakia, both languages in active daily use).
Where I'm strongest
Six international automotive brands among my regular clients. Five years of active Smartling experience for SaaS / tech localization.
Capacity
Daily output: approximately 4,000 words sustained (15–20 standard pages). For rush, double that for short bursts with a quality discount agreed in advance.
Turnaround: quotes within 2 business hours. Standard project starts within 1 business day. Same-day starts available for repeat clients.
Working hours: CET, with overlap into US Eastern most of the day.
CAT tools — fluent in
memoQ, SDL Trados Studio, Smartling, Memsource / Phrase, Smartcat, Across, Transit XV, Wordfast, Passolo.
If you have a proprietary or in-house TMS, I onboard quickly. As a working developer I read documentation faster than most linguists; the tool is rarely the bottleneck.
Quality is process, not promise
- Glossary and TM compliance is not a guideline — it's the primary quality standard. Every segment cross-checked.
- Two-pass QA minimum: linguistic + technical (tags, placeholders, length).
- Source error flagging: I flag ambiguities, factual issues, and source-side bugs as a matter of course. You get cleaner files than I received.
- MT post-editing: RWS-certified, with five years of production MTPE practice. Honest about when MTPE is and isn't appropriate for your content.
- Sworn translations: I don't issue sworn translations directly, but I have a long-standing relationship with sworn translators and have personally couriered legalized documents back and forth between client and stamp for years. I know how the chain works.
For PMs at translation agencies
I plug into your TMS, your glossaries, your style guides. Zero onboarding overhead.
What you get from me that you may not get from other senior CS/SK linguists: structured feedback to your engine team on MT output quality, terminology issues caught before they become regressions, and engineering-aware questions about source files that tend to expose bugs upstream.
Standard rate cards on request. Pre-signed framework agreements welcomed.
